Bisalloy Steels Delivers Confidence And Convenience With New Protection Steel Range

Australia’s only manufacturer of quenched and tempered performance steel plate, Bisalloy Steels, has delivered a valuable new offering to the market with the launch of its BISALLOY® Protection steel range.

Developed to complement the company’s BISALLOY® Armour steel range, which has become the first choice in defence applications here and abroad, the new BISALLOY® Protection steel range offers eight tested and certified, lighter weight plate products with superior ballistic performance to suit a wide range of applications for the protection of life, valuables and property.

From BISALLOY® Protection 250 steel, suitable for use where both high strength and ballistic resistance is required, through to BISALLOY® Protection 600 steel, with a very high degree of hardness and ballistic resistance to protect against specific threats, the BISALLOY® Protection steel range runs the gamut of vital performance characteristics including strength, toughness and shock loading resistance, along with the ability to be readily formed, fabricated and welded as required.

This makes it eminently suited to police, government and civilian applications including light armoured vehicles, land and sea patrol vehicles, cash-in-transit vehicles, safes and strongboxes, security booths, public and private facilities, safe rooms and myriad other applications.

While offering the same confidence in product quality that the market has come to expect from BISALLOY® Armour steel, BISALLOY® Wear steel and BISALLOY® Structural steel, the BISALLOY® Protection steel range also adds convenience to its list of valuable attributes, as Justin Suwart, Bisalloy Steels’ Business Development Manager, explained.

“Having recognised the need for lighter weight protection than traditional armour grades, and with our expertise in producing armour grade steel, it was a natural progression to develop our BISALLOY® Protection steel range,” Suwart said.

“In addition, as our protection grade steel range is offered as a standardised product range, customers will also have the convenience of tested and certified protection grade steel that can be very easily specified and ordered – even spot orders and small volumes – with short lead times.

“Bisalloy has always been highly responsive to customer demands and market changes, and providing a diverse and valuable product offering has always been a key priority. In delivering the BISALLOY® Protection steel range we know we have ticked both these boxes in terms of need and value,” Suwart concluded.

Since 1980, Bisalloy Steels has been Australia’s only manufacturer of high tensile and abrasion-resistant quenched and tempered steel plate used for armour, structural and wear-resistant steel applications and has become known and trusted in Australia and across the world for the quality of their performance steel products.

These products are marketed under the brand name BISALLOY® and distributed to manufacturers and end-users in an array of industries including mining, construction, general fabrication, pressure vessel and defence in a host of countries throughout Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and South America.
