Bisalloy Steels Continues To Build On Proven Performance

Shane Gleeson, Group General Manager Sales & Marketing of Bisalloy Steels Pty Ltd, today announced the appointment of Darren Walsh to the position of Sales Manager – Bisalloy Steels Pty Ltd.

Mr Walsh most recently held the position of Key Segment Manager of SSAB Australia – APAC, and his engagement further strengthens the experienced Bisalloy sales team.

“Darren brings with him over 30 years of steel industry experience with a proven track record in driving development of new customers and applications for quench and temper performance steels in Australia, NZ and, more recently, throughout Asia, and it is exciting to have him join Bisalloy Steels at a time when we’re actively pursuing growth across all these regions,” Shane Gleeson said.

Mr Walsh’s in-depth knowledge of quench and tempered steels across a diverse range of markets, and his proven sales management expertise, will make him a valuable addition to the Bisalloy team and will see him driving a range of sales growth activities across the business.

“In fact this depth of experience will see him wearing two hats for our business. Firstly, as our Melbourne-based Sales Manager, Darren will be responsible for driving growth and customer relationships in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Secondly his understanding of defence applications and associated markets means he is ideally credentialed to also undertake the role of Sales Manager for our BISALLOY® Armour and Protection steel grades,” Gleeson said.

With Bisalloy Steels continuing with its growth strategy in Australia and internationally, Gleeson feels they have acquired the right man at the right time.

“Darren’s expertise in identifying and developing new customers, markets and applications for performance steel will form a fundamental basis for delivering on our business strategy. His experience in leading and developing strong sales teams will also be vital in ensuring our customers will continue to receive a superior level of sales and service support,” Gleeson said.
