Bisalloy Steels CEO/MD, Greg Albert, and Business Manager – Armour, Justin Suwart have returned to Australia after attending the 2017 Association of United States Army’s (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington DC.
The AUSA event is the largest landpower exposition and professional development forum in North America and was the ideal opportunity for Bisalloy to showcase its specialised range of Australian-made quenched and tempered armour grades steels.
As in previous years AUSA was again well attended with over 25,000 defence and civilian visitors over the 3 days of the Exposition.
Speaking of their experience at the Exposition Greg Albert said, “our participation at AUSA as part of the Team Australia (TDA) contingent was a great success from our perspective.”
“As part of the TDA we were able to engage with many of the major global defence suppliers and contractors and conduct face-to-face discussions regarding the supply of our speciality BISALLOY® Armour grades to defence applications,” said Greg Albert.
TDA is an initiative of the Australian Government’s Centre for Defence Industry Capability (CDIC) whose mission is to work with industry and Defence to build a world class, globally competitive Australian industry as a Fundamental Input to Defence Capability.
During their time at AUSA the Bisalloy team were well supported by Maj. Gen. Michael Crane, AM, the Team Defence Australia military specialist.
“The participation and support of a respected expert such as Maj. Gen. Crane ensured that we, and all members of TDA, were able effectively communicate our message to this key influencer audience.
“In fact Team Defence Australia and all the team from the Australian Embassy were helpful and supportive, and ensured that AUSA 2017 was a great success for Bisalloy,” commented Greg Albert.
During their time in the United States, Mr Albert and Mr Suwart were also able to meet with The Hon. Joe Hockey, Australian Ambassador to the United States.
“Mr Hockey was genuinely interested in hearing about Bisalloy and our unique position as Australia’s only manufacturer of quench and temper steel, and supportive of our vision to see our BISALLOY® Armour grade products specified in defence applications around the world,” concluded Justin Suwart.
